Laying Drainage System In 29 Villages Top Priority: Indore Mayor
The villages came under municipal limits a decade back

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Laying drainage system in all the 29 villages brought under the municipal limits about a decade ago is among our top priorities, said Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav. He chaired a meeting of the Drainage and IT departments at Indore Municipal Corporation headquarters, focusing on infrastructure development in the 29 villages.
MiC members Nandkishore Pahadiya, Abhishek Sharma Bablu and Rajesh Udavat, additional commissioners and department officials, participated in the meeting.
Emphasising the city's commitment to comprehensive development, Bhargav outlined plans to achieve "100% drainage coverage" in these villages.
Discussions also included input from CREDAI representatives to ensure effective implementation under the AMRUT 2.0 initiative.
"Providing 100 per cent drainage coverage in the 29 villages is a top priority," said he. He further announced plans to construct "new ponds" on government land within these areas to enhance water management and environmental sustainability. District collector will be requested to identify suitable government land for these projects.
Besides, the Mayor highlighted plans for the "beautification of existing city ponds", including Bilawali Pond, Limbodi Pond and Sirpur Pond. "These efforts aim to improve the ecological and aesthetic value of these water bodies while addressing the city's water conservation needs," he added.
