Indore's Ashtang Ayurveda College To Get ₹39 Crore Six-Storey Building For Advanced Treatment & Research

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Ashtang Ayurveda College will get a six-storey building at a cost of Rs39 crore. This facility aims to improve patient care and promote research in Ayurveda. With the growing popularity of Ayurveda, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of patients seeking treatment through traditional methods has increased. To meet this demand, the college is expanding its infrastructure.

The old building, originally constructed in 1956, was demolished due to its deteriorating condition. Although the proposal for a new structure had been under discussion for six years, it has now received approval from the State Finance Committee.

The next step is to invite tenders, after which construction will begin. Currently, the college operates from a building constructed in 2007, but it is no longer sufficient due to the rise in student intake from 75 to 100 seats. The new building, to be developed by the Public Works Department, is expected to be completed within two to three years.

Ashtang Ayurveda College is a key centre for Ayurvedic treatment, attracting patients from across India. It specialises in therapies for ailments such as panchkarma, avascular necrosis (AVN), and cancer. Additionally, the institution manufactures around 18 types of Ayurvedic medicines. The new facility will enhance both patient services and academic research in Ayurveda.
