Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old student preparing for competitive exams was killed after falling while trying to board a moving train at the city's Railway Station on Wednesday night. She was going to her native place Seoni via Jabalpur and while boarding the train, the incident occurred.
According to the GRP police staff, the deceased was identified as Gunjan Shivedi, a native of Seoni. She was preparing for a competitive examination while staying in Ambikapuri Bholaram Ustad Marg.
The incident occurred around 7:30 pm, when Gunjan attempted to board the AC coach of the Indore-Jabalpur Express. She was accompanied by her friend Rishika. As they were late to reach the station, the train started to move, they attempted to board the moving train.
Rishika managed to get on board, but Gunjan, while trying to climb into the coach by holding her friend’s hand, lost her balance and slipped into the gap between the train and the platform.
The GRP team immediately rushed to pull her out, but she had already sustained severe injuries. She was promptly rushed to MY Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Police began a probe to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and informed her family about the incident.
