Indore: Special ballot voting for those engaged in election work

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A special facility for voting through ballot paper will be provided to the personnel engaged in election work in urban bodies in the Indore district on the basis of an election duty certificate. This work of voting will start on June 28 at Yeshwant Hall, Holkar Science College, which will continue till July 1.

Deputy collector Anshul Khare said that 14 teams have been formed to conduct voting on the basis of the election duty certificate. The voting process will start on June 28. During this, the representatives of political parties are allowed to be present and observe the voting process. It was told that there would be ward-wise facilitation centres, where voting would take place.

Nodal officers will also be appointed so that they can verify the personnel engaged in election duty. Voter lists will also be available for the convenience of the workers.

There is a provision in the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Election Rules that any polling agent, any polling officer, a presiding officer, and any other public servant whom the Returning Officer considers to be on duty shall be entitled to the election duty ballot paper. Election duty ballot papers will be given to the officers and employees engaged in urban body election work. The application form for the election ballot paper is fixed in form 19 along with the declaration by the voter on the election duty.
