Barnagar (Madhya Pradesh): Five persons of an interstate gang of robbers were arrested by Barnagar police on Friday for stealing construction equipment worth Rs 29 lakh.
The arrests came through coordinated efforts of Cyber Cell Ujjain, Bhopal police and Hoshangabad police.
On Wednesday Rajesh Barod of Barnagar filed a complaint that unknown thieves had stolen his Holland machine support vehicle and approximately thirty-five 18-foot iron rods from his plot during the night.
Police registered case number 338/2025 under Section 303(2) BNS and launched an investigation. Through technical analysis and evidence collection, authorities determined the theft was committed by an organised criminal network operating across multiple states.
The breakthrough came quickly and police arrested all five suspects on Bhopal-Betul highway. During questioning and searches, officers recovered all stolen items valued at approximately Rs 29 lakh.
The arrested individuals include Ajay Panwar (25) from Chhindwara, Kunwar Singh alias Akhilesh (22), Ratan Singh alias Bablu (24), Neeraj Kumar Korche (21) from Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, Chhattisgarh and T Srinivasan (44) from Tamil Nadu. Police recovered the Holland machine support vehicle (registration KA-01-AB-7790) along with all 35 iron rods.
Inspector Ashok Kumar Patidar led the successful operation with assistance from SI Jaideep Rathore, ASI Rajendra Singh Hada, Shaitan Singh Dindor and constable Yuvraj).
