Indore: 50 Cops Deployed In 30km Stretch For Safety Of Kawadiyas |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): To prevent road accidents and for the safety of Kawad Yatris on Indore-Khandwa Road, the Indore Rural police have deployed the police teams at various places between the stretch of about 30 kilometres from Sunday evening. Some police teams are constantly patrolling the roa.
A police force of 50 personnel has been deployed from Gawalu village to Tejaji Nagar Square in view of today being the last Monday of the holy Sawan month as the number of kawadiyas would be increased on Indore-Khandwa Road.

DSP (Rural Headquarters) Umakant Choudhary said that the teams have been trained and deployed for the help of the kawad yatris. Heavy vehicles are prohibited on the road for the safety of the people but the police teams would instruct other vehicle drivers/riders to go slow on the road.
Also, the people carrying kawad are also requested to walk away from the road. They were also told to give information to the police after seeing vehicles being driven recklessly so the police would take action in time. Choudhary said that three mobile police teams would patrol the area.
