Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Issuing necessary directives, collector Asheesh Singh here on Sunday said that the issues pertaining to allotments of plots to eligible members of the different housing cooperative societies in the city should be done in a time-bound manner.

In a step toward ensuring transparency and timely redressal of issues plaguing housing cooperative societies, Singh convened a high-level joint meeting on Sunday, bringing together key officials and stakeholders.

The initiative, described as innovative and people-centric, aims to deliver quick, transparent and legally sound resolutions for long-standing disputes affecting thousands of citizens.

The meeting saw active participation from members and officials of housing cooperative societies along with top representatives from Indore Municipal Corporation, Indore Development Authority (IDA) and the Cooperative Department. Among those present were MLA Mahendra Hardia, municipal commissioner Shivam Verma, IDA CEO RP Ahirwar, and deputy registrar (cooperatives) Madan Gajbhiye.

Addressing the gathering, the collector said that the administration is committed to ensuring all eligible members receive their rightful allotments in a time-bound and legally compliant manner.

He issued several key directives during the review of prominent societies including Devi Ahilya, Nyay Nagar, Raghuvanshi, Ved Mata, Green Park, Mazdoor Panchayat, Nav Bharat and Jagriti housing cooperative societies.

“Every department must work in coordination. All pending processes—from elections to plot allotments—must be completed transparently within fixed deadlines. Non-compliance will invite strict action,” he said.

Gajbhiye presented a comprehensive overview of the legal status, current hurdles and the strategic roadmap ahead for the societies.
