Angered by this move, a group of students staged a demonstration and locked the doors of Yashwant Hall, where a meeting chaired by principal Anamika Jain was underway. Nearly 150 teachers were in the hall when the protest escalated and students cut off the electricity supply to the hall leaving the faculty members trapped and distressed.
Police were called to the scene and managed to control the situation. Following the incident, the principal lodged a complaint with collector Asheesh Singh, prompting an investigation by additional collector Rajendra Singh Raghuvanshi.
The investigation report confirmed that the students had organised the protest in response to the removal of unauthorised posters. It also established that they were directly responsible for locking the doors and cutting off the power supply. The district administration deemed the act a clear case of indiscipline and recommended strict disciplinary action against the quartet.
ABVP distances itself from the incident
In response to the incident, the ABVP secretary Lavish Jadhav condemned the students' actions stating that the organisation does not support such disruptions. ABVP leader Ritesh Patel announced the immediate expulsion of Aalekh Dwivedi and Sachin Rajput from the organisation due to their involvement in the protest.
