Weather Update: IMD Forecasts Cold Wave, Dense Fog & Snowfall In Some Parts Of North India- Visuals

Cold wave conditions have been observed in several regions of North India, impacting the daily lives of residents. The dense fog is disrupting train and flight operations in many areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning about a drop in temperatures across various parts of North India in the coming days due to these cold wave conditions.

All India Radio News (AIR) shared pictures related to weather on social media platform X and wrote, "#Coldwave conditions continue to sweep entire North India. India Meteorological Department (#IMD) forecasts cold day conditions in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh today."

In the national capital of India, Delhi, a thin layer of fog covers the city as the cold wave persists. The minimum temperature is expected to drop to 5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is anticipated to be around 18 degrees Celsius. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures are likely to decline further in the coming days.

Cold wave conditions are also affecting the north-central region of India, including Uttar Pradesh. As the winter season intensifies, thick fog blankets many areas of the state, making the Taj Mahal appear as though it has vanished into the mist.

Dense fog and snowfall continue in these regions

Heavy snowfall and dense fog have been reported in the districts of Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara, Budgam, and Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for many areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, as temperatures have dropped to 0 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand is also experiencing cold wave conditions, with several areas, particularly Haridwar and Haldwani, covered in dense fog.
