UP Shocker: 'Fake' Doctor Caught on Camera Performing Surgery At Unauthorised Clinic In Lakhimpur

Lakhimpur: A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur, where a purported video of a surgery being performed in an operation theatre (OT) at an allegedly non-registered hospital has gone viral. It can be seen in the video that the surgery is being performed in a dilapidated and unsafe room, and the person performing the operation is reportedly not a registered surgeon but a graduate degree holder.

Reportedly, this fake hospital neither has registered doctor nor medical facilities as per healthcare standards, yet surgeries were being performed.

The video shows a man lying on the hospital bed with his eyes covered, a man in a surgical gown performing the surgery, and a woman in a doctor's jacket assisting the man. Another man can be seen near the patient.

The man recording the video, can be heard mocking the alleged fake doctors and laughingly calling them a general MD. The woman can be seen smiling.

Opposition Reacts

UP Congress reacting to the video on micro-blogging website X said, "What value does a human life have in a state where the Health Minister is so utterly incompetent? Watch this video to understand."

The party asked,"If the patient dies, who will be held responsible? Under whose protection is this unregistered hospital operating? How many such hospitals are running across the state? What is the involvement of the Health Department in all of this?"
