A Noida biker tried to take his romance to high speeds by riding on the Yamuna Expressway with his girlfriend sitting facing him on the bike, arms wrapped tightly around him like a clingy scarf. Unfortunately for him, the only thing that came in hot pursuit was the Noida traffic police.
The video of the couple’s gravity-defying, law ignoring love stunt went viral after a fellow commuter recorded it from a car. In the clip, the helmetless Romeo was seen enjoying the ride while Juliet clung to him, backwards, and apparently confident that love shields against potholes and police alike.
But Cupid couldn’t save them from a ₹53,500 traffic fine. Noida police, using the power of vehicle registration data (and probably some digital facepalming), issued the whopping fine under multiple violations: no helmet, dangerous driving, public endangerment, and extreme PDA.
Social media, naturally, had a field day.
"So much for love. ₹53,500? In our village, even looking at your crush costs you a chappal to the head!" wrote one user.
Another quipped,
"For this much money, they could’ve taken a round-trip to Thailand"
Even the police got poetic, reportedly calling the fine a “love letter with consequences.”
Moral of the story? Keep the love low-key, or at least off the expressway.
