The Uttar Pradesh Health Department has issued an alert in anticipation of the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, starting in Sawan, and other festivals. Comprehensive arrangements are being made to ensure public safety and health during these periods.
The department will ensure an ample supply of ambulances along sensitive Kanwar routes. Sub-health centers and primary health centers will have treatment facilities, while community health centers will establish separate emergency wards.
The Principal Secretary of Medical, Health, Family Welfare, and Medical Education, Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, has directed all medical college principals, Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), and Chief Medical Superintendents (CMS) to implement these measures. They've been instructed to set up adequate arrangements within three days.
This includes ensuring sufficient medicine stocks at all health units, maintaining robust emergency services, deploying enough healthcare personnel, keeping equipment functional, and arranging for proper diagnostic tests.
