Republican Party Of India Launches Signature Campaign In Navi Mumbai To Highlight Commuter Issues

Navi Mumbai: The Republican party of India organised a large-scale signature campaign at various railway stations of Navi Mumbai. The signature campaign was to highlight the issues faced by the commuters on a daily basis due to lack of the necessary infrastructure at the railway stations.

The signature campaign was held at different railway stations, including Nerul, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli, Airoli, Belapur, Vashi, Juinagar, Turbhe, and Seawoods.

“Even as the railway stations of Navi Mumbai was once heralded for its infrastructure but over the years there are a lot of issues faced by the commuters. There are no escalators or elevators provided in any of these stations as a result for the differently abled individuals and senior citizens catching a train calls for a lot of hardship,” said the district president Mahesh Khare.

The improvement demanded included increasing train frequency on the Thane-Panvel, Thane-Nerul, and Thane-Vashi routes considering the growing population, and appointing female railway police officers at stations for the safety of women traveling at night, along with increased patrolling.

Additionally, they urged the authorities to address the poor condition of public toilets and drinking water facilities at railway stations and requested ticket counters to be made available on both sides of each railway station.

Key party leaders and members participated, including District President Mahesh Khare, Working President Dharamsi Patel, General Secretary L. R. Gaikwad, Koparkhairane Working President Vijay Kamble, Chief Organizer Narayan More, Navi Mumbai Spokesperson Sachin Katare, Secretary Prakash Tulase, Navi Mumbai Vice President Tilak Jadhav, Belapur Assembly President Mahesh Kamble, and several other officials and activists such as Soma Kamble, Sanket Pawar, Mangesh Gaikwad, Ashok Jadhav, Vasant Jadhav, Bhimrao Tayde, Balaji Kamble, Babu Gaikwad, Mangesh Randive, Anant Tambe, Anant Pawar, Ravi Gaikwad, Sagar Kasbe, Vinay Masurkar, Dhammapal Nikhade, Ashwin Kumar Dhaske, Prakash Surwade, Babasaheb Dake, Chabukswar, Sathe, Vijay Pagare, Vijay Dandke, and Raju Kamble. Many other office bearers and party workers also took part in the campaign.
