Punjab News: ED Begins Property Attachment Process Against Harpreet Singh In Money Laundering Case
The case stems from Dharamsot’s tenure as forest minister during the previous Congress government when he was accused of large-scale corruption related to the felling of khair trees, transfers and postings in the department.

Chandigarh: An enforcement directorate (ED) court in Mohali, near here, has declared Harpreet Singh, son of former forest minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot as proclaimed offender in a 2024 prevention of money laundering Act (PMLA) case.
Subsequent to declaring Harpreet a PO on July 29 last, the ED has also initiated proceedings to seek details of his properties so as to attach them.
The next hearing in the case has been fixed for August 19.

However, when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came to power in Punjab in 2022, it initiated investigation and Dharamsot, about 64, a five-time MLA from Nabha, was arrested by ED in 2024 while his son Harpreet was named as a co-accused in the case. He was the first former minister who was put behind bars by the AAP government.
Dharamsot is currently out on bail.
