Meerut Murder Case: Boy Carries Blue Drums With 101 ltr Of Gangajal, Prays For Liberation Of Saurabh Rajput’s Soul (VIDEO)

Haridwar: During the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, a devotee carried a Kanwar for the liberation of the soul of Saurabh Rajput, a merchant navy officer who was allegedly killed by his wife and her lover in Meerut earlier this year. A video of 16-year-old Lord Shiva devotee, Shivam, carrying two blue drums as kanwars on his shoulders surfaced online.

The video was first shared by Bharat Samachar news portal. Notably, Rajput was murdered and his chopped body parts were put in a blue drum full of cement by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her boyfriend, Sahil Shukla, to hide their crime.

According to reports, Shivam took the 'Mukti Sankalp' for the liberation of the Rajput's soul. He will reportedly bring 101 litres of Ganga water in the blue drum. He embarked on the Kanwar Yatra from Ghaziabad to Haridwar.

Notably, the Kanwar Yatra is an annual pilgrimage that is observed by millions of devotees of Lord Shiva in the holy month of Shravan. They fetch holy water from the Ganga. This holy water is then offered to Lord Shiva by the devotees at their native places. Devotees who take part in this auspicious yatra are known as Kanwariyas.

The Meerut blue drum case shook the entire nation. The alleged murder took place on March 4 in Meerut’s Brahmpuri region, days after Rajput returned from London to celebrate his wife's birthday. The accused, Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla, chopped Rajput's body into pieces. The accused then put the merchant navy officer's body parts into a drum full of cement and got them sealed. The victim's decomposed remains were recovered days after the alleged murder.

The matter surfaced on March 18 when Rajput's brother visited his rented home in Indranagar-2 in Brahmapuri. he found her sister-in-law with an unknown man (Sahil), and Rahul questioned her about his brother's whereabouts. Her unclear responses and a strange smell emitting from the house raised suspicion. Shockingly, after killing Saurabh, Muskan and his lover left for the hills.
