Kolkata: Parents of RG Kar rape and murder victim on Thursday have moved Calcutta High Court seeking court’s direction to initiate a fresh probe in the matter.
According to High Court sources, the parents of the victim had moved the single bench of Justice Tirthankar Ghosh and said that they don’t have faith in the present investigation that is being done by the central agency.
The court sources also mentioned that the Justice had admitted the petition and the hearing is scheduled for next week.
Notably, after failing to submit chargesheet against former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital’s principal Sandip Ghosh and former OC Police Station OC Abhijit Mondal even after 90 days of investigation, the Sealdah court last week had given both of them ‘default bail’.
Though Ghosh is still in jail and cases of misappropriation of funds are also levied against him.
Following the bail the West Bengal Junior Doctors Front as well as senior doctors had hit the streets and agitated in front of the CBI office demanding ‘explanation’ for their failure.
However, the victim’s mother had earlier stated that she has faith in the CBI as the central sleuths had said that the investigation process is still going on.
