A purported video of newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Patparganj, Ravinder Singh Negi, has surfaced online in which he could be seen threatening a minor child.

New Delhi: A purported video of newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Patparganj, Ravinder Singh Negi, has surfaced online in which he could be seen threatening a minor child. The video is being widely shared on social media platforms.
In the video, Negi could be seen scolding the teenager for sitting outside somebody else's house. When the BJP MLA asked the minor boy where he lived, he replied that he lived in the neighbouring street.
The MLA asked the child not to sit outside somebody else's home otherwise he would send him to jail. "jail mein band kar denge (will lock you in jail)," the BJP MLA could be heard saying in the video.
The legislator further asked the minor boy to tell his friends also not to sit outside somebody else's house. The child then left the spot.
Netizens are criticising the MLA for his behaviour. One of the X users wrote, "BJP MLA Ravindra Negi is seen misbehaving and threatening a minor boy saying ‘jail me band kardenge’ in Delhi. Earlier he was also seen threatening people with dire consequences if they were seen in the area."
"On one side there was teacher Avadh Ojha and on the other side there was goon Ravi Negi, see whom the public chose," another user wrote in Hindi.
"Situation after BJP's victory in Delhi elections. Negi is a newly elected BJP MLA who is threatening an innocent child and you will be shocked to know the reason. Now even going out on the streets in Delhi is a crime," an X user wrote.
On Thursday, Negi shared a video on is X handle in which he is asking people to vacate the land belong to the government. "Any kind of encroachment will not be tolerated at all in Patparganj assembly constituency. For which I have started strict action and whoever does illegal construction on government land will be removed from there," he tweeted.

Negi won the polls from the Patparganj assembly seat defeating AAP's Avadh Ojha.
In the recently concluded assembly polls in Delhi, the BJP returned to power after 27 years. The BJP bagged 48 seats, while the AAP managed to bag only 22 seats.
