Bengaluru: The Enforcement Directorate has attached over 160 sites worth over Rs 500 crore in connection with the MUDA scam, which involves the wife of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
This time, the ED has targeted bulk allotments to many people and organisations, where a number of irregularities have taken place. The MUDA has directed that these 160 sites should not be sold or transacted in any form.
Among the major bulk allotments, Abdul Wahab has been allotted 41 compensatory sites, while the Church Cathedral Sharief organisation has been allotted 40 compensatory sites. Meanwhile, Ravikumar and Sujatha have been allotted over 31 sites, while Mahesh and Raju have got 30 sites.
Earlier, the ED had attached over 69 sites worth over Rs 100 crore. However, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi had returned 14 sites allotted to her. Though MUDA and Siddaramaiah claimed that the sites were allotted as compensatory to 3.16 acres land gifted to Parvathi Siddaramaiah by her brother, the disputed land had been acquired by MUDA much before her brother purchased it and compensation had been given.
