Kodaikanal: A young doctor pursuing a postgraduate medical degree was tragically found dead in his car near Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, after reportedly administering intravenous fluids to himself.
Joshua Samraj, who was pursuing his MD in Salem and working at a hospital in Madurai, was discovered inside his car in a secluded forested area in Poomparai, near the popular hill town of Kodaikanal.
According to local reports, the vehicle had remained stationary for three days, which led concerned villagers to alert police. Upon inspection, officers recovered a suicide note in which the doctor apologised to his family. While the note gave no specific reason for the act, his family reportedly told authorities that Samraj had been suffering from depression related to a personal relationship issue.
Police Suspect Financial Stress
Investigators believe the 27-year-old may have administered IV fluids to himself before dying. “Only a post-mortem will confirm the exact cause of death,” said local police officials, as quoted by NDTV. A case has been registered, and further forensic analysis is underway.
Police also confirmed that the doctor was under financial stress. While speculation swirled on social media about possible losses through online gaming, authorities clarified, “We have not found any such detail in his suicide note, nor do his parents say so. We are investigating.”
