Patna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday called Bihar`s NDA government ‘Double Engine Dhokebaaz Sarkaar’ even as he addressed students from Dalit and backward communities at Ambedkar Hostel in Darbhanga by defying the district administration’ order.
Braving blistering sun, Rahul walked to Ambedkar Hostel and waved to the people standing on the roadsides after he was stopped by police before the programme venue.
The trouble started on Wednesday afternoon itself when the district administration refused to grant permission to the organisers to hold the party programme at Ambedkar Hostel. The district administration instead offered Town Hall as a new venue for the event, but Congress remained adamant to hold the programme at Ambedkar Hostel itself.

Addressing Dalit and backward students, Rahul said that the government tried its best to stop me, but still he came to have a dialogue with them. He alleged that SCs, STs, OBCs, and EBCs were being subjected to torture in the entire country throughout the day, denying them education and leaking their question papers and spoiling their careers.
"We have made three demands: a caste census at the national level in the right manner based on the Telangana model, reservation in private colleges and universities, and to put pressure on the Bihar government to do it.
Talking to newspersons in Darbhanga, Rahul said, “NDA government is ‘double engine dhokebaaz sarkaar" in Bihar. It is preventing me from interacting with Dalit and backward students in the Ambedkar Hostel. Since when has dialogue become a crime? Nitish ji, what are you afraid of? Do you want to hide the condition of education and of social justice in Bihar?"
