Ambedkar Row: TMC Protests Against HM Amit Shah’s Remarks, Demands Apology
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said that as per party Supremo Mamata Banerjee’s instruction the rallies were taken out as Shah had ‘insulted’ the Constitution.

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday took out protest rallies across the state condemning Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent remarks on B R Ambedkar.
Party leaders including ministers holding posters of BR Ambedkar took out rallies at every block level.
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said that as per party Supremo Mamata Banerjee’s instruction the rallies were taken out as Shah had ‘insulted’ the Constitution.
“Whatever Shah said is an insult to BR Ambedkar and also the Constitution. He should apologize,” said Ghosh.

Notably, while inaugurating the Christmas festival a couple of days back, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also condemned the comments of the Union Home Minister against BR Ambedkar in the Parliament.
During a debate on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha last week, Shah hinting at that the opposition had said, “Abhi ek fashion ho gaya hai, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. Itna naam agar Bhagwan ka lete to saat janmon tak swarg mil jata. (It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. If they had taken God’s name so many times, they would have attained heaven for seven lifetimes).
