Bigg Boss 16 Contestants List: All you need to know about the participants of Salman Khan's show

The latest season of Salman Khan's controversial and much talked about reality show 'Bigg Boss' is back on the small screen. The first episode of 'Bigg Boss 16' premiered on Saturday, October 1.

Like every year, the makers have roped in contestants who can keep the audience entertained. Several popular faces from the entertainment industry, including those who have had a controversial past, have entered the house.

Take a look at all the contestants and their career profiles:

1. Nimrit Kaur Alhuwalia

Television actress Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia was the leading lady in the daily soap 'Choti Sardarni'. She received a lot of appreciation from the audience. She has a modeling background and is a former Femina Miss Manipur winner. Nimrit hails from Delhi and she is also a qualified lawyer.

2. Abdu Rozik

Abdu Rozik is a Tajik singer and rapper. He hails from Tajikistan and has a YouTube channel called Avlod Media which has more than 580k subscribers. He became quite popular in India after he uploaded a video of him singing Arijit Singh's 'Enna Sona'. The 19-year-old was also invited to India to attend music maestro AR Rahman's daughter Khatija's wedding.

3. Priyanka Chahar Choudhary

Television actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary was the leading face of the romantic serial 'Udaariyan'. The 26-year-old model and actor was also part of shows like 'Yeh Hai Chahetein', 'Parineeti', and a few others. However, she tasted fame with 'Udaariyan' and her character Tejo Sandhu was loved by the audience.

4. Ankit Gupta

Along with Priyanka, Ankit Gupta was the male lead of 'Udaariyan'. Ankit made his acting debut in 2012 with Balika Vadhu. He also made his Bollywood debut the same year with Tutiya Dil. However, it was the youth drama Sadda Haq that made him a household name.

5. MC Stan

Pune-based rapper MC Stan aka Altaf Shaikh is known for his two albums 'Insaan' and 'Tadipaar'. He also collaborated with rapper Raftaar for a video. He is also known for his diss track about Emiway Bantai and a collaboration video with Raftaar. Reportedly, he recently made headlines after his former girlfriend accused him of getting her beaten up by miscreants. Introducing him on the reality show, Salman said that he has hosted Bigg Boss for over 12 years but 'aisa item pehli baar aaya hain'.

6. Archana Gautam

Actor and politician Archana Gautam won the title of Miss Uttar Pradesh in 2014 and Miss Bikini India in 2018. She has also worked in films like 'Haseena Parker' and 'Great Grand Masti'. She Joined Congress in November 2021 and got ticket From Hastinapur for Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election 2022.

7. Gautam Singh Vig

Actor Gautam Vig is a popular television face and has worked in shows like 'Tantra', 'Ishq Subhan Allah' and 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2'. He started his career as a model and has been active in television industry since 2016.

8. Shalin Bhanot

Actor Shalin Bhanot started his career with the reality show 'Roadies' in 2004 and emerged as the winner of the dance reality show 'Nach Baliye 4' with his ex-wife Dalljiet Kaur. Later he was seen in 'Naagin 4'. Before entering the Bigg Boss house, Shalin archived all his Instagram posts, and had shared a black image.

9. Soundarya Sharma

Dentist-turned-actress Soundarya Sharma was a part of a much popular web series 'Raktanchal' and Disney+ Hotstar's recently released show 'Karm Yuddh'. She had auditioned for a role in Wonder Woman 1984 alongside Gal Gadot and Pedro Pascal.

10. Shiv Thakare

Actor Shiv Thakare started his career with MTVs 'Roadies Rising' and 'Antisocial'. He is the winner of the second season of Bigg Boss Marathi. Recently, he turned an entrepreneur by launching his new deodorant brand.

11. Manya Singh

Actor and model Manya Singh emerged as Femina Miss India runner-up 2020 and was also a part of a few brand commercials. During the premiere episode, Manya revealed she was out of work and was rejected because of her skin colour.

12. Sumbul Touqeer

Television actress Sumbul Touqeer is popularly known for her portrayal in the show 'Imlie'. She has also appeared in the music video 'Ishq Ho Gaya'. She is reportedly loved for her on-screen chemistry with Fahmaan Khan, who was her co-star on the show.

13. Gori Nagori

Rajasthan-based dancer Gori Nagori was featured in the song 'Le Photo Le' and has also performed with former Bigg Boss contestant Sapna Choudhary. She is called Haryana's Shakira by her fans and followers.

14. Tina Datta

Television actress Tina Datta gained immense popularity and became a household name with her show 'Uttaran'. She had played the role of Iccha in the daily soap. Tina has over 2.9 million followers on Instagram and she often makes headlines for her bold pictures and entertaining reels.

15. Sreejita De

Actress Sreejita De appeared in popular shows like 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' and 'Karam Apna Apna'. She became a household name when she portrayed the role of Mukta in 'Uttaran'. She got engaged to Michael Blohm Pape in January 2019. Reportedly, they wanted to get married in 2020 but could not do so because of the pandemic. The couple now plans to tie the knot in 2022.

16. Sajid Khan

Bollywood filmmaker Sajid Khan is known for his blockbuster hit films like 'Heyy Baby', 'Housefull' and 'Housefull 2'. He was one of the celebs who was accused in the #MeToo movement.
