'Someone Will Secretly Take Picture And...': Sonakshi Sinha Reveals Why She NEVER Swims In India, Admits Feeling 'Conscious' In Swimwear
Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who is also a trained diver, revealed she never swims in India, and does it only when she is abroad. "I don’t swim in Mumbai or in this country because I don’t know when someone will secretly take a picture and send it across. I don’t want it to be splashed all over the internet," she said.

Not many know but Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is also a certified diver, and is often seen exploring the depths of the seas and oceans at exotic locations. However, the actress has now revealed that she never swims in Mumbai, or anywhere else in India, due to the fear of being secretly photographed.
During her conversation on Hauterrfly, Sonakshi revealed that despite advocating body positivity and being comfortable in her own skin, she feels conscious when it comes to wearing swimwear. She also said that while she swims for leisure and recreation, she does not want her photos to be all over the internet.
"I always felt conscious while wearing swimwear, especially while growing up. I don’t swim in Mumbai or in this country because I don’t know when someone will secretly take a picture and send it across. I don’t want it to be splashed all over the internet. I swim when I travel, I dive," she said.

During the conversation, Sonakshi also revealed an instance when she was rejected due to the way she looked, and how it left her heartbroken.
"This one time I really broke down because I didn't get a lead role as I was overweight. They said, 'You won't look good in this role... You just play a stupid small role'. I got really offended."
She went on to narrate, "I went home and my maasi was there, and I just curled up in her arms and broke down. I questioned why God made me like this and all. I cried it out and the next day, I was okay."
Sonakshi then said how fluctuations in weight is a normal occurrence, and advised young girls to not fall in the trap of looking a certain way and hating their bodies.

On the work front, Sonakshi marked her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan's Dabangg in 2010. She was last seen in the 2024 films, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Kakuda. In the same year, she also starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series, Heeramandi, and received appreciation for her role.
Sonakshi will feature next in Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness, and its release date is yet to be announced.
