Social Media Influencer Angel Rai Files Police Complaint Over Death Threats; Police Launch Probe
According to the FIR filed on March 22, Rai, who resides in Goregaon West received an email containing obscene messages and a death threat from an unidentified person on March 16.

The Bangur Nagar police have registered a case after actress and social media influencer Angel Rai, 22, filed a complaint about receiving death threats via email and Instagram. Rai has more than 25 million followers on social media and her web series ‘Ghotala' is set to be launched soon.
According to the FIR filed on March 22, Rai, who resides in Goregaon West received an email containing obscene messages and a death threat from an unidentified person on March 16. The threats include being burned alive and being cut into pieces and discarded.
The FIR also stated that she had received similar emails in the past. Between August 2023 and March 2024, she was subjected to obscene and threatening messages through email, Instagram, and other social media platforms. She told the media, “I have been receiving obscene messages for several days. Eventually, I got fed up and decided to file a complaint with the police. Especially after the trailer release of my new web series ‘Ghotala,’ the accused sent me death threats. Initially, I received messages on Instagram, and I blocked the accounts, but the accused continued to send messages from various accounts. I endured it for the last two years, but now I am fed up.”
Rai, who has appeared in many music videos, is soon launching her web series ‘Ghotala’ on her YouTube channel.
