Ved Box Office: Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia's Marathi film earns Rs 10 crore in 3 days

Bollywood actors and power couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh's much-awaited film Ved released on December 30.

It set a new record as the highest-opening Marathi film post pandemic. Riteish's directorial debut film has brought houseful boards back to Marathi cinema.

The film earned Rs 4.50 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release. On the first day, the film raked in Rs 2.25 crore and on the second day, it witnessed a jump as it collected Rs 3.25 crore.

The total box office collection of Ved now stands at Rs 10 crore.

About the film

The romantic action film also stars Jiya Shankar, Raviraj Kande, Ashok Saraf and Shubhankar Tawde. Salman Khan is also seen in a guest appearance.

Ved has been one of the most-awaited Marathi films this year as it marks Riteish's foray into direction and Genelia’s Marathi debut in a prominent role. The story largely revolves around Riteish’s character Satya, a cricketer waiting for his moment under the sun. Reportedly, the film is inspired by the Telugu film Majili, featuring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Riteish's upcoming projects

Riteish was recently seen in a comedy film Mister Mummy along with Genelia and Mahesh Manjrekar. Helmed by Shaad Ali, the film failed to impress the audience at the box office.

He will also be seen in an upcoming horror comedy Kakuda alongside Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem and in Sajid Khan's comedy 100% alongside John Abraham, Nora Fatehi and Shehnaaz Gill.
