Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale slips into coma, is in critical condition, not responding to touch

Pune: Veteran film, television, and stage actor Vikram Gokhale is in critical condition and has been admitted to a Pune hospital.
Gokhale was admitted to the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune a few days ago, where he was undergoing treatment.
However, after multiple media publications reported of his passing, his wife Vrushali Gokhale, clarified that he is still alive and refuted reports of his death.
Yesterday while speaking with The Times of India, Vrushali said, "He slipped into coma yesterday afternoon and post that, he has not responded to touch. He is on ventilator. Doctors will decide tomorrow morning what to do, depending on whether he's improving, sinking or still not responding. He improved a bit but slipped again. He has had a host of issues, like in heart and kidney. At the moment, he has had a multi-organ failure."
Gokhale has acted in several Marathi and Bollywood films, including the 1990 Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Agneepath' and the 1999 film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' starring Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
His Marathi films include 'Bala Gau Kashi Angai', 'Kalat Nakalat', 'Lapandav', and 'Aamhi Bolato Marathi'. He was also well-known for the television show 'Ya Sukhanno Ya'.
He made his directorial debut in 2010, with the Marathi film 'Aaghaat'.
Vikram was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2011 for his Acting in Theatre and in 2013, he won the National Film Award for Best Actor category for his Marathi film 'Anumati'.
