Bollywood actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who is receiving praise for her performance in Varun Dhawan's Baby John, has taken a bold stand for animal rights by urging her followers to adopt a vegan lifestyle. In a heartfelt Instagram story, the actress called attention to the cruelty faced by animals in industries like meat, dairy, cosmetics, and transportation.
On Thursday (December 26), Wamiqa shared a disturbing video depicting the slaughter of sheep to emphasise her point.
Saddened to see the brutality animals endure, Wamiqa wrote, "The day you want to see the truth, you will know the crime you've been a part of. It's pure evil. It's heartbreaking."
She added, "Choose veganism, stop eating dead bodies, stop torturing these beautiful beings. Eat clean, you are what you eat. We are humans. We have alternatives. We can make a choice. Choose KINDNESS."
Known for her love of organic vegetarian food, Wamiqa has consistently advocated for a wholesome and cruelty-free diet. The 31-year-old actress actively encourages her family, friends, and fans to transition to veganism, promoting the benefits of eating plant-based meals not only for personal health but also for the environment and animal welfare.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Wamiqa was most recently seen in Baby John as Adhira Verman IPS. Directed by Kalees and produced by Jawan director Atlee, the film hit the big screens on December 25. It earned Rs 12.5 crore at the box office on the first day.
Wamiqa will next be seen in the film Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling with veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, and Siddhant Chaturvedi. It is scheduled to release in 2025.
