'If I Am Not Wrong...': Thug Life Star Kamal Haasan Not Ready To Apologise For His 'Kannada Was Born Out Of Tamil' Statement
Kamal Haasan's statement, 'Kannada Was Born Out Of Tamil', has created a lot of controversy. Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) wants the veteran actor to apologise, or else they won't allow the release of Thug Life in the state. But, the actor is not ready to apologise and he recently stated, "If I'm wrong, I'll apologise. If I'm not, I won't. This is my lifestyle."

A few days ago, Kamal Haasan at an event stated that "Kannada (language) was born out of Tamil." This didn't go down well with pro-Kannada groups, political leaders, and members of the film industry. Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) had announced that if Kamal Haasan doesn't apologise by Friday, they won't allow the release of his next film Thug Life in Karnataka. Recently, while talking to India Today, the veteran actor stated that if he isn't wrong, he won't apologise.
He said, "If I'm wrong, I'll apologise. If I'm not, I won't. This is my lifestyle, please don't tamper with it. India is a democratic country, and I believe in law and justice." When Haasan was asked about the threats (of his film not getting a release in Karnataka), he said, "I've been threatened before."
