'He Is Sensitive': Anurag Kashyap Defends Son-In-Law Shane Gregoire After Netizens Troll Him For Getting Emotional During Wedding

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, married her longtime boyfriend Shane Gregoire in the presence of their close friends and family members on December 11 in Mumbai. An inside video from the intimate wedding is making the rounds on social media, showing Shane getting emotional as Aaliyah walks down the aisle in a stunning pastel pink lehenga.

After Shane's video went viral, netizens mercilessly trolled him for breaking down, with some even accusing him of crying purely for attention. The criticism sparked a strong reaction from Anurag, who jumped to his son-in-law's defense in the comments section of one of the posts.

He wrote, "My son in@law is just the most sensitive human being and the way he loves my daughter is so special. So everyone who thinks its a trend or he is doing it to go viral."

"Can take a hile. I could not have wished for a better son in law. I am not half as good as a father the way Shane is to Aalyah," he added.

The video shows Aaliyah can be seen entering the mandap with her bridesmaids Khushi Kapoor, Sakshi Shivdasani, Imtiaz Ali's daughter, Ida Ali, Kareema Barry, Muskan Chanana, Manika Malkani, and Pearl Malik. She looked stunning in a Tarun Tahiliani lehenga. Shane, on the other hand, wore an ivory sherwani.

Aaliyah and Shane's love story

The couple got engaged in May 2023 after dating each other for quite some time. They met on a dating app and their love story blossomed over time. Shane eventually proposed to Aaliyah in Bali.

On Aaliyah's podcast Opposites Attract, the duo had once talked about their love story and shared that they initially faced challenged in their relationship. She shared, "When we first started dating, we had a lot of issues. The first year was definitely hard. We almost broke up once because of unhealthy behaviour we both had to unlearn."
