Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also condemned Allahbadia's 'parents having sex' question. On Monday, while interacting with media persons, he said, "Certain things have been said and presented in a very wrong manner, as I have come to know... This is absolutely wrong. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech, but our freedom ends where we encroach upon someone else’s freedom. This is not right. I believe that even expression has its limits."
He added, "Our society has established certain norms regarding obscenity, and if someone crosses those boundaries, it is a very serious matter. Action should be taken against this."
After backlash, Ranveer apologised and called it a 'lapse in judgement.' He said, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate; it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology."

Ranveer continued, "I personally had a lapse in judgement... Wasn't cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages and I don't want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect."
