Dada: 'And It Begins...', Rajkummar Rao Starts Shooting For Sourav Ganguly's Biopic

Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly's biopic has been in the news for the past few years. Earlier, there were reports that Ranbir Kapoor would be seen in the lead role in the film. However, now the biopic has started rolling and Rajkummar Rao will be seen as Ganguly in the film.

Rao took to Instagram to inform everyone about it, and also revealed the title of the biopic. He tweeted, "And it begins … The one and only #DADA (sic)." Check out the post below...

Dada is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Luv Ranjan under his banner Luv Films. This will be Rao and Motwane's second film together. They had earlier worked together in the 2017 release Trapped, which was a sleeper hit at the box office.

Rajkummar Rao Upcoming Movies

Apart from Dada, Rao has some interesting films lined up. He will be seen in the Ujjwal Nikam biopic, Toaster, and Raftaar. Toaster, which is also produced by Rao, will premiere on Netflix on April 15, 2026.

Meanwhile, Raftaar is slated to release in theatres on July 24, 2026. It stars Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. The release date of the Ujjwal Nikam biopic has not yet been announced.
