'Shamshera' Box Office Collection Day 2: Ranbir Kapoor's film earns Rs 10.50 crore on Saturday
'Shamshera' is made on a budget of Rs 150 crore.
The much-hyped 'Shamshera', which marks Ranbir Kapoor's return to the silver screen after four long years, seems to have failed to make a mark at the box office.
After earning Rs 10.25 crore on its very first day, the film managed to mint only Rs 10.50 crore on the second day, marking only a negligible jump in the collection despite the endless promotions.
The total revenue generated by the film in two days has now mounted to Rs 20.75 crore.
In the film, Ranbir is pitted against Sanjay Dutt who is playing an evil, merciless, cold-hearted brute force of nature, Shuddh Singh.
The story of 'Shamshera' is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shuddh Singh. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then a legend for his tribe. He relentlessly fights for his tribe's freedom and dignity. His name is Shamshera.
The high-octane, adrenaline-pumping entertainer is set in the 1800s in the heartland of India.
The film has been directed by Karan Malhotra, and it also stars Vaani Kapoor in a pivotal role. The action extravaganza has been produced by Aditya Chopra and has released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
