'Aap Apni Ek Party Banaye': Disha Patani's Sister Khushboo Patani Backs Raghav Chadha After AAP Drops Him From Rajya Sabha Post

A political debate has erupted online after Raghav Chadha shared a video questioning his removal as deputy leader of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Rajya Sabha. Among those reacting to the development was Bollywood actress Disha Patani's sister Khushboo Patani, who came out in support of the MP and even suggested that he launch his own political party.

Khushboo Patani backs Raghav Chadha

Soon after Chadha posted his video message on X, several social media users and public figures shared their views. Khushboo also voiced strong support for the MP and encouraged him to take an independent political path.

Commenting under his post, she wrote, "Raghav ji, aap ek padhae likhae, suljahe neta hain. Hamare desh ko aap jaise neta ki bahut zarurat hain. Mujhe yakeen hain aane wale waqt mein aap apni ek party banaye. Hum sab aapke sath judna chahengae kyunki aap desh ke sath chalna chahate hain. Jai hind."

Ashoke Pandit criticises Raghav Chadha

Not everyone, however, supported Chadha’s stance. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit criticised the MP in the same comment section, accusing him of staying silent during earlier controversies within the party.

Pandit wrote, "I wish you would have raised your voice when other colleagues met the same fate earlier. You kept quite when the one created you Anna Hazare was abused and side lined. You remained silent when Arvind Kejriwal was building his sheesh Mahal. You can’t cry fowl now because you supported all the wrong which Kejriwal did. No sympathies for you."

Raghav Chadha questions party decision

Earlier on Friday (April 3), Chadha released a video message responding to his removal as Rajya Sabha deputy leader. In the clip, he questioned whether raising issues concerning the public had led to the decision.

He said, “Whenever I get the chance to speak in Parliament, I raise public's issues but is it a crime or a mistake to do so? I am asking this because AAP has told the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to put a stop to Raghav Chadha's Parliament address.”

The MP also listed several matters he had raised in Parliament, including high food prices at airports, challenges faced by gig workers, issues related to prepaid mobile plans, and the tax burden on the middle class.

Party restructuring cited as reason

Chadha was removed from the position of deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, with Ashok Mittal taking over the role.

In recent weeks, Chadha had raised multiple issues in Parliament, including flight delays, issues of Zomato and Swiggy delivery boys, alleged examination paper leaks and the need for legal paternity leave.

Meanwhile, the AAP leadership has maintained that the decision was part of an internal restructuring exercise and denied claims that Chadha had been prevented from speaking in the Rajya Sabha under the party’s MP quota.

Speculation around Chadha’s absence during Kejriwal arrest

Political observers have also speculated about Chadha’s absence during a crucial period for the party. When Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in March 2024 in connection with the excise policy case, Chadha was not seen participating in protests. At the time, he had stated that he was in London undergoing eye surgery.

Reports suggested that he remained away during Kejriwal’s nearly six-month incarceration and met him only a few days after his release.
