CLAT 2026 Notification Out: Check Exam Date, Registration Timeline, Eligibility & More
The Consortium of NLUs has announced that CLAT 2026 will be held on December 7, 2025, in offline mode. The registration window opens on August 1 and will remain active until October 31, 2025. The official notification with syllabus, eligibility, and exam pattern will be released soon on the CLAT website.

CLAT 2026 Notification: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the exam schedule for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026. According to the notification, the national-level entrance test for law will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. The examination will be conducted between 2 PM and 4 PM.
The form filling for CLAT 2026 will open on August 1, 2025, and the last date for submitting the forms will be October 31, 2025, providing applicants three whole months to fill out and submit their forms.
Eligibility Criteria
For Undergraduate (UG) course, the candidate needs to have passed Class 12 with minimum 45% marks (minimum 40% for SC, ST categories). For Postgraduate (PG) course, the applicant needs to have an LLB degree with minimum 45% marks, whereas the minimum for SC, ST, and PwD candidates would be 40%.
Application Fees
Following last year's pattern, the application fee was ₹4,000 for General and OBC candidates and ₹3,500 for SC, ST, and BPL candidates. Fee details for 2026 will be updated in the soon-to-be-released official brochure.
Documents Required
As an applicant to CLAT PG 2026, the following documents will be needed while filling out the application form:
- A recent passport-sized photo with a plain background
- Scanned signature
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- BPL certificate (if applicable)

Aspirants are requested to check the official CLAT website frequently for updates and make sure to finish filling out their applications before the deadline. The announcement came after two meetings of the CLAT Executive Committee and Governing Body were held on July 20, 2025.
