New Delhi: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is getting ready to launch its new platform, EPFO 3.0. The launch is likely to happen between May and June 2025. The upgrade is expected to benefit over 9 crore EPF members.
What is EPFO 3.0?
EPFO 3.0 is a modern IT system. It will make EPF services faster and easier to use. The new platform aims to reduce paperwork and long waiting times.
Key Features of EPFO 3.0
Here are the main features expected in EPFO 3.0:
ATM Withdrawals
EPF members may be able to withdraw funds from ATMs after claim approval. This will work like normal bank ATM transactions.
Auto-Claim Settlement
Claims may be processed automatically. This will reduce the need for manual work and make the process faster.
Easy Online Corrections
Members can update details like name or date of birth online. No more long paperwork for small corrections.
OTP-Based Verification
Changes in member information can be confirmed through OTP. This replaces the need to fill out physical forms.
Better Grievance Redressal
A quicker and more responsive system will help solve complaints faster.
More Services and Integration
EPFO is also thinking about adding other government schemes. These may include:
- Atal Pension Yojana
- Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bima Yojana
- This will help people in the unorganised and informal sectors.
Update on ESIC Services
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is also working on new changes. ESIC may allow free treatment in government, private, and charitable hospitals. This will be under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Right now, ESIC gives health services to about 18 crore people through 165 hospitals in India.
EPFO 3.0 and the ESIC update aim to make life easier for millions of workers by using technology and better planning.
