Bengaluru: Ola Electric is reshaping both pricing and sales strategy as demand accelerates sharply.
Ola Electric has reduced the price of its flagship Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh from Rs 1,89,999 to Rs 1,29,999, a drop of Rs 60,000. The company attributed the reduction to improved cost efficiencies achieved through scaling production of its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell at its Gigafactory.
The company is moving away from open sales to a controlled, time-bound purchase model. The first purchase window is scheduled for April 03, 2026, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, with future windows to be announced based on production availability. This approach is designed to align supply with demand.
Ola Electric highlighted that demand for the Roadster surged more than five times during its #EndICEAge campaign. The motorcycle, offering a range of up to 500 km, has seen demand significantly exceed supply capacity. The company also reported over 150 percent month-on-month growth in registrations, reaching 10,117 units in March, with daily orders crossing 1,000 units in the final week.
The company is ramping up its Gigafactory capacity toward 6 GWh while expanding domestic battery production. Management indicated that vertical integration and local manufacturing are key to reducing costs and improving accessibility. The initiative also supports India’s broader push toward reducing dependence on imported fuel and accelerating EV adoption.
Ola Electric’s pricing and sales shift underscores its strategy of leveraging manufacturing scale and demand momentum to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.
