Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Padyatra’ from Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district on Sunday.
Shivraj was spotted with wife Sadhana Singh, son Kartikeya and his Oxford University graduate daughter-in-law Amanat.
Addressing the public during the foot-march, he said, "Powerful and Developed India is our target and it is only possible with the progress of rural India-- our villagers, poor and farmers. "
He further explained that mere construction and bridges cannot be equate for development. True development is when every citizen of the country, every poor is able to the required resources. I shall work to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pledge of a developed nation. "

Padyatra after 25 years
Minister Chouhan’s first stop was at the villages of Ladkui and Bhadakui, where he interacted with farmers.
The locals gave him a warm welcome and even lifted him on their shoulders. Later, he danced joyfully with his family.
His wife Sadhna Singh, elder son Kartikeya, and daughter-in-law Amanat also participated in the padyatra. Referring to the march, Shivraj said, “Neither day nor night…Shivraj walks on foot.”
Speaking about Operation Sindoor, he said, “The world has seen India’s strength. This is the new India—it won’t provoke anyone, but if provoked, it won’t spare anyone. We must build such a bold and proud India.”
Shivraj Singh Chouhan had earlier undertaken a padyatra in 1991 across the Vidisha parliamentary constituency.
