As soon as the fire broke out, the engineer immediately informed the fire brigade and the police. In response, five fire tenders were sent to the spot.
No casualties reported
Firefighters took nearly two hours to control the flames using water jets. No casualties were reported in the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring.
Short circuit suspected
According to Fire Brigade Officer Atibal Singh Yadav, the control room received a fire emergency call from municipal engineer Brajkishore Tyagi on Wednesday. Initially, four fire tenders were dispatched, but due to the intensity of the fire, an additional vehicle was sent.
