Guna (Madhya Pradesh): Two elderly women dies of cholera and 45 people fell critically ill in Madhya Pradesh's Guna. Authorities suspect contaminated water is the reason for infection.
This disheartening incident took place in Mahal Colony of Bamori area of Guna district. Villagers complained of vomiting and stomach ache after drinking water from the village hand pump on Wednesday.
According to officials, children and women who were admitted at the Bamori Health Center initially, were immediately shifted to Guna district hospital.
BMO of Bamori, Lakshmi Kumar has confirmed that During treatment, Rampyari Saharia (70) and Hausa Bai Maratha (70) succumbed to their illness during treatment on Friday.
45 people ill, 10 admitted to hospital
Currently 45 people of the village are ill, out of which 10 are undergoing treatment in the district hospital. Meanwhile, some patients have also been admitted to private hospitals.
Health department team reaches to collect water samples
After the incident, the administration became active and a team of the health department was sent to the village to collect water samples.
