Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Students from private schools will not be eligible for admission to CM Rise schools being established by the state government.
Only students of government schools within a 3-km radius of a CM Rise School will be eligible for admission. CM Rise schools are set to have better teachers and infrastructure than ordinary government schools.
According to a circular issued by the Directorate of Public Instructions recently, admissions will be provided in all classes in schools whose buildings have been handed over to the education department.
In the case of schools whose buildings are ready but haven’t yet been handed over to the education department, admissions will be given only in Class 1. Meanwhile, no admissions will be given in schools where the construction is likely to be completed by June.
Admission to schools whose buildings have been handed over to the education department will be given, with the top priority being given to pupils within a 1-km radius. Once all such aspirants have been accommodated, students from schools located within a 2-km radius will be given admission, followed by those from schools within a 3-km radius.
In the case of schools offering only Class 1 admission, students residing within a 1-km radius of the CM Rise Schools will be considered. A lottery system will be used in case the number of applications exceeds the available seats.
The directorate has also sought that data on students desirous of admission to CM Rise Schools be shared with it.

The General Secretary Prabodh Pandya said "I think it is improper and unjust to restrict admission to the CM Rise Schools to only government school students.
Parents of students studying in private schools should also get the opportunity to admit their wards to CM Rise Schools so that they can also take advantage of the high-quality education that will be imparted in these schools. It is like forcing parents to continue with private schools."
What govt says
Narendra Ahirwar, District Education Officer of Bhopal stated that "Our top priority is students of government schools."
