Bhopal/Pachmarhi (Madhya Pradesh): The convoy of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was stopped by members of the local taxi union in MP's Pachmarhi hill station. The incident took place on Wednesday when the chief minister was there for a personal visit.

According to information, the memorandum raised concerns about a directive issued by the Forest Department on December 19, 2024. The directive disallowed the registration of gipsies older than 15 years at Pachmarhi's viewpoints. Taxi drivers expressed distress over the new rule, stating that earlier, gipsies up to 20 years old were allowed to register.
The union emphasised that no accidents involving older gipsies have occurred in Pachmarhi. They also pointed out that fitness certificates have been obtained for these vehicles from the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Drivers demanded the continuation of the 20-year registration policy for gipsies, arguing that the new rule threatens their livelihoods. The Chief Minister assured the drivers that their concerns would be reviewed and appropriate action would be taken.
