MP Culture Department Announces 8 National Awards: Prasoon Joshi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali To Get National Kishore Kumar Award

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh has announced eight national awards for 2024 and 2025.

Director of Culture, N.P. Namdev said that lyricist Prasoon Joshi will receive the National Kishore Kumar Award for 2024, while acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be honoured with the same for 2025. The awards will be presented in Khandwa on October 13.

The National Lata Mangeshkar Award for 2024 will be given to celebrated music composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and for 2025, to playback singer Sonu Nigam. These awards will be conferred in Indore on September 28.

The National Mahatma Gandhi Award, which carries a cash prize of ₹20 lakh, will be awarded to Anand Dham, Bhopal, for 2024, and to PunarutthanSamrastaGurukulam, Pune, for 2025.

The remaining awards, which include the National Information Technology Award, National Nirmal Verma Award, and National Hindi Seva Award, will be presented on the occasion of Hindi Day in Bhopal on September 14.

National Kishore Kumar Award 2023

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani received the National Kishore Kumar Award for 2023. He was awsrded because of his recognized contributions to Indian cinema, particularly in areas like scriptwriting, direction, and playback singing, fields associated with Kishore Kumar himself.
