Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state continued to shiver on Monday. However, the sky is likely to remain clear and the wind speed is likely to increase due to which the cold will increase. The maximum effect will be visible in Ujjain and Gwalior-Chambal.

Fog will also be seen in Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar divisions on December 30 and December 31.

According to the meteorological department, a cyclonic circulation is active at an altitude of 1.5 km above mean sea level over Northeast Rajasthan and nearby areas. Moreover, there is a trough at an altitude of 1.5 km above mean sea level from this circulation to North Gujarat.

Due to its effect, the wind speed has slowed down a little bit. As soon as it becomes inactive, the temperature is likely to fall and the cold is likely to increase. At present, light to moderate fog is likely to remain in the morning.

It is expected to rain in Bhopal, Morena, Ashoknagar, Neemuch, Shajapur, Betul, Ratlam, Gwalior, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Dewas, Narmadapuram, Sehore, Raisen, Ujjain, Vidisha, Khandwa, Rajgarh, Harda, Indore, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Bhind, Datia, Khargone, Barwani, Guna, Alirajpur, Dhar, Sagar, Panna, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Katni, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Satna, Seoni, Rewa on last two days of the year, December 30 and December 31.

This time the cold broke all records in the month of December itself. The situation was such that December was colder than January in the entire state. The cold broke all records in many cities including Bhopal and the cold wave lasted for 9 days.

The cold of December in Bhopal broke the record of 58 years.
