Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Kuno National Park celebrated Mother’s Day in a special way by releasing a beautiful video of female cheetah Veera with her two cubs.
The video, shared on Sunday, shows Veera lovingly taking care of her young ones and playing with them.
Check out the video below :
The cubs were born on February 4. Veera is playing an important role in the success of India’s cheetah reintroduction project, teaching her cubs how to survive in the wild, as seen in the video.
According to senior forest officials, Mother’s Day is also a time to honor wildlife mothers like Veera. She and other female cheetahs are considered the backbone of Project Cheetah.
The project, which brought cheetahs from Namibia and South Africa, is helping bring back these big cats to India.
Many cheetahs have now adjusted well to their new home in Kuno. The project is also helping increase awareness about wildlife protection and saving biodiversity.
As per the forest department, there are now 29 cheetahs in Kuno – 10 adults and 19 cubs. Out of these, 16 cheetahs are roaming freely.
The growing number of cheetahs shows that the project is working well.
