Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The BJP has announced the election schedule for the party’s state unit president. The electoral officer issued the notification for election to the post of the state president on Monday.
The candidates will file nomination papers on Tuesday. The nomination papers will be scrutinised the same day, and the final list will be released after the withdrawal of names. The election will be held on Wednesday.
Nominations will be submitted from 4:30 pm, and the process will continue till 8:30 pm. The election in-charge and union minister Dharmendra Pradhan is coming to Bhopal.
He will announce the name of the new state president on Wednesday at a meeting of the party’s state executive committee. At the same meeting, the party’s present state president, VD Sharma, will be given farewell.
Betul legislator Hemant Khandelwal is all set to be elected to the post of the party’s state president. All leaders of the state have backed Khandelwal’s candidature.
There are many other leaders in the race, but senior leaders have given their consent to Khandelwal’s name. The BJP has also released a voters’ list containing the names of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the BJP’s state president VD Sharma and other leaders.
