Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Three people, including a man and his nephew, lost their lives in a head-on collision between two motorcycles under Bilkhiriya police station on Sunday night. One person is in critical condition and is undergoing treatment, police said.
The victims were identified as Arjun Banjara (18), a Class 12 dropout from Devgarh village in Narsinghgarh, and his uncle, Gopal Banjara, along with 55-year-old Ramji Banjara.
Arjun had gone to visit his sister in Haripura village with his friend, Akash Banjara. On their way back to their village around 10 pm, their bike collided with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Gopal was riding with Ramji on the other bike.
All four riders suffered severe head injuries and were rushed to a nearby private hospital.
Despite medical efforts, three of them succumbed to their injuries. Family members of the deceased said that Gopal and Ramji were residents of Raisen and were heading to Haripura to meet a relative.
Son's body
Arjun's father, Phul Singh, was informed about the incident by relatives after which he rushed to Bhopal, only to find his son's body.
Police said that none of the riders were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. The bodies have been handed over to families after post-mortem examinations. The investigation is on.
