Madhya Pradesh: 1.6 Lakhs Names Of Ladli Behnas Deleted Due To Ineligibility

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Over 1.63 lakh women are not going to get the benefits of the Ladli Behna Yojna in January. Their names have been deleted from the list of beneficiaries because they are not eligible for it. Only those women who are below 60 years are given the benefits under the scheme.
The names of those who have died have also been struck off the list of beneficiaries. Nevertheless, there are a few women who sent applications seeking deletion of their names from the list. More than 5, 00,000 names had been deleted from the list after the launch of the scheme because such women were ineligible for the benefits given under the Ladli Behna Yojna.

On the other hand, new names are not added to the list. Those who are becoming eligible according to the norms of the scheme are not getting the benefits, for the government is not accepting fresh applications. MPCC president Jitu Patwari has criticised the government over the issue.
The government has yet to increase the financial aid under the Ladli Behna scheme to Rs 3,000 a month according to its promise, Patwari said. On the other hand, the names of beneficiaries are deleted from the list, he said. Patwari demanded inclusion of new names in the list.
