Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A rare occurrence - a bolt of lightning striking a tree - was captured on video in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district, and the clip is going viral on social media on Thursday.
The incident unfolded in front of Government Venkat School No. 1 on Collectorate Road. As thunder rumbled and the skies lit up, a young man nearby instinctively hit record on his mobile phone - just in time to capture nature’s raw power.
Since then, the electrifying video has been making the rounds online, leaving viewers stunned.

According to eyewitnesses, the phenomenon occurred around 6 pm on Wednesday evening. There was a loud thunderclap followed by a bright flash, and lightning suddenly struck a tree by the roadside.
Fortunately, no one was standing near the tree at the time, or the incident could have turned into a major tragedy.
The loud noise and sudden strike caused panic among people in the area, and for a short time, there was chaos and fear all around.
Lightnings caused fatality in past
Earlier this month, 2 other lightning incidents caused fatality in Madhya Pradesh, in which a farmer lost his life and over a dozen goats died.
In Chhatarpur’s Harpalpur area, farmer Rajendra Singh Gaur died after lightning struck a shed on his farmland where he had taken shelter during rainfall.
His family rushed him to the hospital on a tractor, but with no doctor present at the time, he could not be saved.
In another incident in Tikamgarh district’s Madahar village, lightning struck near Bhilma pond around 2 PM on Wednesday, killing 16 out of 20 goats belonging to farmer Sitaram Kushwaha. Four goats were injured.
Local villagers informed the animal husbandry department immediately.
