Kanwariyas Attacked With Sticks & Iron Rods After Minor Collision With Car In Gwalior; Protestors Block Road
Two Kanwariyas were critically injured after an alleged attack with sticks, iron rods and hammers following a minor vehicle collision in Gwalior's Ghasmandi area late Thursday. Police registered an attempt-to-murder case against 20 accused, including 14 named individuals. Hindu groups protested alleged police delay, blocking a road before officials restored order.

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Two Kanwariyas were allegedly beaten with sticks and iron rods after their bike had a minor collision with a car in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Thursday night. Their condition is said to be critical.
The incident occurred in the Ghasmandi area, under the jurisdiction of the Kila Gate police station, Gwalior.
According to information, the main accused were identified as Arshad Khan, Golu and Aqueel Khan. They were in car when the collision happened.
Notably, 4-5 youths had set out from Gwalior on motorcycles on Thursday night to fetch 'Kanwar' (holy water) from Haridwar. As they reached Ghasmandi area, their motorcycle collided with a car, leading to an argument between both groups.
The argument turned heated and the trio-- Arshad Khan, Golu and Aqueel Khan, along with their friends, attacked the Kanwariyas with sticks and iron rods and fled.
Victims Vivek Yadav and Shubham Yadav sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Accused absconding; Kanwariyas block road to protest violence
Dissatisfied with the police response, the 'Kanwariyas' companions and members of Hindu organisations staged a protest on the road outside the Bahodapur police station.
The protesters blocked the road for approximately 2 to 3 hours and raised slogans against the police, disrupting traffic.
Following which, police registered a case against a total of 20 accused, including-- Arshad Khan, Golu, and Aqeel Khan. Charges include serious offences such as attempted murder, verbal abuse, and criminal intimidation.
The police are currently searching for the absconding accused, and the entire incident is under investigation.
