Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): In the recent development of Jabalpur acid attack case, it was revealed that accused Ishita Sahu was arrested with an accomplice, as reported by police on Wednesday.
According to police, Ishita bought the acid using fake documents with the help of a friend named Ansh Sharma,
Ansh posed as a college professor and spoke to the shopkeeper on Ishita’s behalf.
They even created fake college seals, documents, and letterheads to convince the seller.
Shraddha, a BBA student, was allegedly attacked by her friend Ishita outside her home. Ishita had come to visit her, pretending to give her a surprise. When Shraddha returned home after refusing to go out, Ishita threw acid on her face, leaving her severely injured. She is currently being treated at a private hospital in critical condition.
It is said that Ishita was jealous of Shraddha’s looks and her lifestyle. Recently, Shraddha had landed a job, bought an expensive phone, and was about to shift to Bengal with her family.
Accused planned attack after viral video
Adding to the tension, a video of Shraddha with a male friend - who was also close to Ishita - went viral. Ishita allegedly felt humiliated and began planning the attack.
Shraddha and Ishita were childhood friends, but had stopped talking for the last two months. According to police, Ishita invited Shraddha out on the pretext of giving her a surprise and then carried out the acid attack.
Ishita’s mother told the media that her daughter had been mentally disturbed for some time. She had even visited doctors for treatment and had once threatened to kill her mother and herself.
Police have arrested both Ishita Sahu and Ansh Sharma. An FIR has been registered and further investigation is ongoing.
